Editorial & Evidence Policy

Our standard: We separate what JumpStarterReviews measured or tested from independent evidence and manufacturer-supplied information. If we have not physically tested an exact product, we should not imply that we have.

Our evidence ladder

1Measured by JSRA measurement we made ourselves.
2Tested by JSRA hands-on test we performed ourselves.
3Independent test evidenceRelevant evidence independent of the manufacturer.
4Manufacturer specificationA claim or specification supplied by the manufacturer.

Compatibility before rankings

We do not rank jump starters by peak amps alone. Voltage, engine type and size, vehicle procedures, battery chemistry, temperature, clamps, cables and intended use can all affect whether a product is suitable.

Older product coverage

Older reviews may remain useful to owners and people researching used equipment. We preserve useful coverage without disguising discontinued equipment as a current recommendation. When an appropriate current destination exists, we try to give the reader a useful next step.

Corrections and updates

A design change, HTML conversion or link repair does not by itself qualify as an editorial update. A page receives a current research/update status only after substantive editorial work. If you spot a factual problem, use our contact page and identify the page and issue clearly.

Reader before merchant

Affiliate relationships must not materially interfere with reading, navigation, safety information or task completion. Recommendations should follow the reader's problem and the evidence, not the commission.

Image ownership and attribution

JumpStarterReviews distinguishes between product photographs, contextual editorial images and explanatory graphics. A contextual image is not presented as a photograph of a named product. When a third-party image is used under a reuse license, the page will identify the creator and license as required. Manufacturer or retailer imagery is not copied merely because it is publicly visible.
